This 4 patch block was quick to make and has two layout possibilities outlined in the pattern. We use diagram one layout for the store sample. This awesome fabric line by Benartex adds a festive look to the quilt. I hope you enjoy making this one.

This is a simple traditional pattern that we wanted to use with this awesome collection of fabrics. The positioning of the blocks is endless. Have fun arranging it in the layout of your choice, or use the one we did for the store sample.

June 2007 FLANNEL CLUB

PATTERN: That 70's Look by Klia Cawston

Requirment: Assortment of 12 Fat Quarters
This line of flannel batiks has got different traits than the traditional quilters' flannel. The fabric unwashed has more stability and has a more velvety touch. Also the dimensions of the width of fabric are around 40" with salvages. Keep this in mind when squaring up, be frugal and of course do not wash before you get started. Also some of the cutting instructions are odd because we are cutting the large squares into pairs, as the assembly of the block requires this.

This traditional pattern has been done over and over again. We have seen different layouts and many new designs incorporating a lot of the traditional methods with a touch of contemporary layouts.

NOVEMBER 2006 FLANNEL CLUB

Number of Blocks: 48 ~ 7" finished blocks

This quilt starts with a 4 inch square and is built up with rounds of half square triangles. This woodsy line of fabric is a good choice to give us an appreciation to the great outdoors. We hope you enjoy making this quilt as much as we did.

With border ~ 64 x 76
This traditional favorite block, the Courthouse Step Block, combines a 4 patch in the center of it. We used a common four-patch in each of the blocks using one light Fat Quarter with a common Dark Fat Quarter. You can make the center scrappy, the choice is yours.

This is a nice selection of spring colors that I hope you enjoy working with. We kept the pattern very simple as we felt we wanted to focus on the pretty fabric.
