This line of flannel has been around for years and has always been one of my favorite lines. This pattern works well with a collection of fabric with not to much contrast. The cutting instructions are unique that you work in pairs throughout the block assembly. Once you make a couple of blocks you can organize the pieces so that you can streamline your sewing of the blocks.

Pattern: Klia Cawston ~ Buzz Saw
Number of Blocks: 36 (6 x 6 Layout)
Number of Fat Quarters: 6 darks, 3 -½ meter lights (equal to 6 fat quarters)
Size of Block: 7½ inches finished

This is one of my favorite patterns I have used time and time again. What I like about this pattern is that you can make it scrappy with as many fabrics as you like as long as you have equal amounts of each, light and darks. For simplicity we use 3 light - ½ meter cuts and the 6 dark fat quarters. The gorgeous border finishes off the quilt nicely.

Size of Block: 9 inches finished

This line has a rich Asian look, with a hint of yellow. As I was working with this line of fabric, it came to mind that it reminds me of the color of spices. I decided to make a contemporary looking pattern to showcase the colors. We added two borders to the body of the quilt, the first one a stripe followed by an all over large scale print for the border. The gorgeous border print finishes this quilt beautifully..

FABRIC: Milmington Prints, Tapestry of Colors
Pattern: Disappearing 9 Patch
12 Fat Quarters: 10 medium to light, 2 medium to dark
Size of Quilt: Without Borders 54 x 54 - With Borders 63 x 63
This pretty line of flannel is so beautiful. We thought we would use a pattern that has caught our attention. I have seen this pattern done in many ways. We decided to make the nine-patch with a dark fabric in the center of each block to give these blocks continuity. I created a diagonal pattern when arranging the blocks to give the eyes somewhere to rest.

FABRIC: Bali ~ Batiks, By Princess Mirah
PATTERN: That 70's Look by Klia Cawston
Number of Blocks: 40 Size of Quilt: 32" x 56" (without borders)
53" x 73" (with borders)
Requirment: Assortment of 12 Fat Quarters
This line of flannel batiks has got different traits than the traditional quilters' flannel. The fabric unwashed has more stability and has a more velvety touch. Also the dimensions of the width of fabric are around 40" with salvages. Keep this in mind when squaring up, be frugal and of course do not wash before you get started. Also some of the cutting instructions are odd because we are cutting the large squares into pairs, as the assembly of the block requires this.
