ABC's OF QUILTING ~

In the beginning there were tools, techniques and a new language for all new Quilters to master. Learn the basics of fabrics, cutting, sewing, piecing, safety and the care of your equipment. This series of classes covers the basics required in taking your first step along with finishing touches to complete your project. We have packaged cutting tools required for this class at a discount.

BEACH BAG ~ PLASTIC CANVAS
Instructor: Pat Wilkes
This is a great bag that is fun and fast to make. There are endless choices of fabrics or themes that you can use with this bag. This would make a great gift bag to match your quilt or a summer beach bag for that special person in mind. “Absolutely Obsessed” pattern included in class fee.

APPLIQUE BASICS
Instructor: Val Wojtula
Learn all the basics of Appliqué in this introduction class. Val has been a long time Appliqué enthusiast. She will take you through the techniques and methods of Appliquéing. Val will be introducing a class in the future that will run like a “Block of the month“ program. So watch in the coming schedules for this. She will also show you the notions & tools, and books and patterns that will open your imagination to many projects you can start on your own.

NORTHERN SUNFLOWER
Instructor: Sharon Adair
Learn how to “paper piece” while making this stunning wall-hanging. You will be introduced to the techniques to make this project which will give you the confidence to try other available patterns. Pattern included in class fee.

DANDY DUFFLE BAG

STACK N” WACK FAN
Instructor: Nancy Hadley
This technique is know to impress even the seasoned quilter. This beautiful sample uses a oriental fabric. This class will give you an idea of what is possible with large scale fabrics with a repeat. Pick a juvenile fabric for a kids quilt or use a fabulous floral to make yourself this awesome quilt. Book included in class fee.

APPLIQUILTING CLASS
Instructor: Joan Stats
Joan will introduce you to an adventurous exploration into “Appliquilting.” She is a designer of over 80 patterns to choose from. Her patterns are incredibly detailed, come see her catalogue to choose from. She will show you all sorts of interesting tools, techniques and tips. Patterns are not included in class fee. We have several kits available for this class.

BOOKCASE QUILT
Instructor: Patti Lebarron
This wall quilt will truly impress you. This project has many elements in it, to incorporate special details that you would find on a bookshelf. You can choose mementos and pictures to personalize this for this project. Let your imagination run wild. Come see Patti's sample in the store, you will love it! Class fee includes book.

SQUARE N' A SQUARE ~ Sampler
Instructor: Gail Otke
Gail is a Qualified “Square in a Square” “Diamond Certified” instructor. She will be teaching techniques that allow quilters to achieve perfect points with improved accuracy, simplicity of construction and speed. This is a sampler class will catalogue many of the techniques in a “workbook” while creating beautiful blocks. Included in class fee, workbook valued at 59 dollars.

TESSELATING HYDRANGAES
Instructor: Sharon Adair
Join Sharon to make this eye catching quilt. This project works with a design that interlocks to form part of a neighboring design. Feel like an artist when working on a design board in creating this quilt in a color of your choice.

“HOPI BASKET” QUILT
Instructor: Nancy Hadley
This is a very interesting quilt that is easy to put together using a 9 or 10 degree ruler. This theme draws from Native American Designs. There are three sizes of quilts that you can make in this class. Pattern included in class fee.

JULIA'S LILY
Instructor: Laurie Turik
Just in time for Spring! Add a touch of elegance to your home with this wall- hanging designed by Marie Morel-Seroskie. Featuring gracefully flowering lilies and a fluttering butterfly accenting the stained glass “grouting”. Laurie will demonstrate using the “Clover” bias maker or simplify the process by using “Clover Fusible bias”. Pattern included in class fee.

TESSELATING PINWHEELS

This is a Tessellating project
which uses 5 inch squares. We have lots of 5 inch squares that will be coming in the store that is very suitable for this project. The 5 inch square make this project come together quite quickly.

BUGGY BARN HEARTS
Instructor: Shirley Crout
This class will introduce you to the buggy barn methods of cutting and piecing that is so much fun. Buggy Barn patterns and books have an old country look to them that you will love. Pattern included in class fee. Class fee: $ 65

HEART BARGELLO

This is a stunning quilt that would make into an excellent wedding gift for that special person. This technique will jump start you and entice you to make even more bargello quilts. We have made kits with the same fabric as the sample, to make your choices easier. Pattern included in class fee.

FIVE PILLARS

This interwoven pattern combines magnificent color with a clever pattern. This beauty will impress you. The colors are alive and striking. I'm sure you will agree, just feast your eyes. DRUNKARD'S PATH

This class will take the mystery out of the “curve”. Two sizes of templates to choose from. Use black & whites like the sample or choose a collection of batiks, Orientals or use something that you have been collecting from your stash.

FRENCH BRAID

We have had many requests for this class. There are numerous fabric collections you can choose for this project. Pick from many Batiks, florals we carry in the store or choose a collection of fabrics you have been collecting. Book included in class fee.

EMBELLISHING PLAYGROUND
Instructor: Ann Marie Sellars
Ann Marie is coming back to show us yet more techniques to broaden your embellishing skills. You will use interfacings and stabilizers to create some interesting textures. Ann Marie will bring paints and supplies that she will share for a small supply fee.

SWIRL VEST
Instructor: Lily Thorne
Lily is a very well known across the province & Canada for her work and talents. We are very pleased that she is joining us to teach this class. Come in and see the sample, it is truly wonderful.

WOODLAND BUTTERFLY

If you have taken one of Liz's classes and need some extra encouragement to work on the finishing touches, this class is for you. Bring your project that needs the thread work that brings it alive and she will show you how to get it done.

HERONS
Instructor: Liz Faminoff
These Herons in their nest are so stunning!! It's a beautiful quilt that will bring a interest in any room. If your looking for that special piece of artwork this one is for you. Seeing is believing, come and see the sample.

DROP IN
Join us on almost every Monday to our classroom to do some catching up on your projects. The coffee is always on, cutting tables, ironing boards etc. There would be no Drop In on the occasional Monday that is a Holiday or an “Absolutely Obsessed” Club date.
